Hey guys and dolls! That "Skye is HERE" topic was getting really long! So if you have any questions about my music or writing I'll address it here for now.
Starting with "Fallen Through"
The general meaning is my trust in things falling through. It sounds like a relationship song and that's because most people can relate to that more than other situations. I'm finding that in the boy, girl relationship department I've related to that song more after I wrote it. I was actually kinda frustrated with the plans for my career falling though at the point when I wrote it. I had finished most of my album when I was signed. I had the impression that nothing would be changed to my album after I got my record deal. I wrote "Number One" "Fallen Through" "Tangled Up In Me" and "I Don't Care" all after I was signed and in that order. "Billy S." was my first single released off the "How To Deal" soundtrack. Originally it was supposed to be the first single to launch the album off of too. There was going to be a huge marketing push with that song on the movie trailers etc. in a couple words that is what "Fell Though." The movie and the single didn't do as well as the people on my end thought it would. For a while it felt like my career was going nowhere. So Capitol helped me hook up with the other producers, and writers of "Number One". Although looking back on it "Number One" is one of my favourite songs on the album, I was disappointed that my good friend, writer producer and musician James wasn't going to be involved. So in a scramble to make a so called "hit" we wrote "Fallen Through" in his basement studio where most of the album was made. It's just an example of how a negative feeling can be turned into a positive thing. Never give up hope!

Thanks for posting here skye!

Hurray! You know the problem is everyone I know when listen to "Tangled Up In Me" thye love the song, but they don't know who sings it! I try to some publicity but it's not enough!

I wrote MTV Portugal and they said they were excited about your song, but I haven't seen it on tv since then... but hope is the last thing dying!

Keep up the awesome work cause if you fall we'll be here to catch you!

Aww...I'm glad to see everything worked out there in the end! Its such a good song...a bit spiteful, but I can understand that. Anyway, nothing wrong with that, at all. My favourite song of all, is a very spiteful one, too. (my signature is part of it)
As I mentioned in the other topic, I love your song "Give It Time". I know you wrote it a while back, but well...I went through some 5 months of more or less depression after my ex fiancé tore my heart out, so that song has some meaning to it. (I'm still giving it time...lol she still makes me upset) Its so sweet...its a very "hopeful" song. smile.gif
Keep writing them!!! You've got quite the gift there. smile.gif

a topic for song meanings was a wicked idea cool.gif
i love getting insight on what a song means to a writer compared to all the other interpretations critics/fans/people in general have (and it hopefully saves you from repeating it tooo many times)

here's a question that hopefully wont take too much time to answer:

is there a song you've written on the album (or off the album) that has a hidden (deeper/darker/twisted) meaning?
for example - to the majority of the public it might sound like a light song thats simply whining about teen life (which seems to be pretty trendy lately lol) when in actual fact its talking about suicide or the sadness of a teen who has an illness like cancer

sorry if this is a bit morbid tongue.gif

First off, a huge thanks for answering my questions and remembering me! You truly care about your fans and I give you the utmost respect. smile.gif Replying to the "Skye is here" thread, those are some incredibly beautiful images you described. Flying through the cloud, above the storm.....after reading what you said above about never giving up hope and turning the negative into positive...maybe you were destined to see that occurence......if you believe in that stuff. It just confirms what I saw in you from the beginning, a light shining through the darkness (the saying has been overused but it's so appropriate for what I'm trying to say). Yeah, seeing you live when you sprayed the water on everyone and staring right into the eyes of fans...I couldn't help but smile. I think I probably lost the game though. You win hehe. You have a Les Paul guitar? Awesome. So what's the deal? It's being held on to until you're 21 or something? hehe
wink.gif Thanks for the thoughts on Dime and the explanation of "Smoke and Mirrors" (now I understand :-)) . I sympathize with your band completely (don't worry, I won't tell them you told us about the crying. But hey, guys cry too. Don't be ashamed or macho about it.) Anyhow, here's a couple of new questions:

How has the members of your band (including James. He really is part of the band. Just not onstage) influenced your music/writing? Perhaps they've introduced you to a new group, sound, or way of arranging a song? (and vice-versa. I'm sure you've influenced them too!)

Does your band ever go on the forum or read it?

I know you like to create home movies with your mini video camera. Is there any movie/music video/painting that inspires you or just thought was groundbreaking. Maybe you like a particular director's way of filming scenery or you just like anything this actor/actress does ect? (or you like the music videos a certain band does)

That's it for now. You've been really nice and I appreciate that. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and don't worry, Santa does like you! hehe wink.gif Zac

that's awesome, how the song is actually about something totaly different then what most interpret it to be. I can relate to the real meaning of the song, because i've done a lot of these conventions with acting/modeling, where they promise you big things, and it never ends up all that big... sad.gif But then you move on, and keep your head high, and do whatever more it takes. smile.gif
